Liz Manning Recognised for Supporting Young Talent in STEM Industry

In recognition of her recent efforts to inspire the STEM workforce of the future, Liz Manning, Business Development Manager at Catexel, has been awarded a Bronze Greater Manchester Social Value Award by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

The GM Social Value Awards recognise the time and hard work donated by companies to help inspire the region’s future workforce, and the opportunities they create. Catexel became a member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce last year and since then, Liz has volunteered as part of the Chamber’s ‘Reach for the Future’ project in conjunction with Careers Connect to support young people make decisions about their future careers.

Last month, Liz visited Sale High School to talk to students about her STEM career and role at Catexel, providing insights into our work across a number of sectors including as textiles and coatings as well as sharing helpful advice for job interviews. The Reach for the Future project aims to introduce young people to the opportunities presented by STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) and to create a skilled workforce for the future.

We believe that developing and nurturing young talent in STEM subjects is essential to ensuring these industries have the skills and talent needed to continue to drive innovation and progress, and provide young people with the chance to embark on fascinating and rewarding careers.

Well done, Liz!
